Desc: Il conte magico: Directed by Marco Melluso, Diego Schiavo. With Roberta Giallo, Luciano Manzalini, Ivano Marescotti, Antonio Pisu. In a visual universe in which emerald nuances of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz blends with social networking graphics, four guys of "Risorgimental Channel" tells the life, success, adventures and misfortunes of a Bolognese man born in the early 1800's. A man who became Count and gained wealth and world fame by creating Electro-Homoeopathy. This is the story of Cesare Mattei. Cesare Mattei was born in Bologna in the early 1800s. A brilliant, generous and compassionate man that soon became a protagonist of his era. His life, marked by an endless love for his land and his people, as well as jealousies and hatred of his detractors, was shrouded in mystery until now. When in 1850 his mother got sick and died of cancer, Count Mattei decided to buy the land where the ruins of the ancient fortress of Savignano stood, to build his home there. To this day The Rocchetta he designed stands out in the landscape for its eclectic and composite style. The apparent stylistic chaos is in fact a rigorous and accurate design by the count, with carefully studied forms and proportions containing symbolic and astral references. Inside these rooms, during his solitary studies and experiments, Mattei conceived Electro-Homeopathy, a truly original procedure that united the nascent homeopathic practice with galvanic and Alchemy's notions. His remedies were immediately successful, increasingly so. The city of Bologna became a landmark and a destination of illustrious figures of the time, transforming itself into a sort of European and world attraction center. Mattei's remedies flourished from America to China and Electro-Homeopathy brought him incredible wealth and fame. Even the Devil, in Dostoevsky's novel "Brothers Karamazov", makes use of them. Just as in the story of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz", withdrawal from the public sphere and the voluntary exile in a far and fabulous place, facilitate a shift in the perception of Cesare Mattei that sees him being catapulted from real man to fairy tale character. Everything about him seems to happen in another dimension. His own guests were subjected to a purification ritual before entering the Rocchetta. This legendary dimension, this mythical distance, bears a certain resemblance to what is happening today in social media networks. Having a virtual contact is like seeing someone at the window without being able to talk to him: the person is present but at the same time far away and out of reach. Starting from this analogy, the storytelling is enriched with graphic elements drawn from social media: alternate financial events, continued family losses, political and philanthropic passions, eccentric characters, everything is told with the fulminating freshness of a FB post or a tweet. The dispute between supporters and opponents of Electro-Homyopathy is re-read as a flame thread that often is fought out online in chat form, and animated by avid supporters and detractors ready to unveil an alleged hoax.
